Dear friends and lovers of leaving,

I want to share with you some insights about our two upcoming seminars, one in Germany from July 26 to August 2 and the other one in Texas, August 30 to Sept. 7, 2003. Our projected aim for those events is to be able to transmit to you the Gurdjieff Movements as a body of gestures that speak a definite language, and open a channel  that allow a free flow of a highly organized energy. The movements are a perfect tool, and the body begins to respond to them as we sharpen our attention and begin to establish an unusual contact with it. We will also be working with Zikrs (remembrance of God) from different sufi traditions.

It is said,  "whenever there are two or three gathered in my name 'I' will be among them", so we are trying to follow up the group work that start at the seminars. We will try to organize small groups of participants that can come together at least once a month. A seminar is an investment of time and money, to leave everyone by themselves after the event is a great disservice and waste of resources. We have the Internet, why not use it to its full potential. We have proven with the World chain that distances do not exist today. In 24 hours we were all connected with a common aim. If our wish for freedom is strong enough, it will give us the power to overcome obstacles.

Please open your hearts and listen, I often tell my students that all our problems reside in our emotional life. If we solve our emotions, we solve our life. The truth is, that the way our emotions interact with others, often dear to us, create a state of separation rather than union. Sometimes it happens that we feel further away from those who are nearer, than from people we have just met. We live in a state of loneliness and separation because we have been cut off from our origin. If we find union inside of us, nothing can be separated any more. We need to Love, we need to embrace, and we need to turn back and begin anew, become children again in our hearts.

We feel very lonely because of this separation, often thinking that this void can be fulfill by another person or by another object or new project, but we deceive ourselves by becoming idolaters. We have to realize that there is no one but Him, we have to turn to him constantly and incessantly and eventually he will respond. Zikr means remembrance and if we do not remember him how can he remember us. After practicing Zikr with JelaluddinLoras only for one week, in our last seminar here in Santo Domingo, we have seen that it is a complement of our work and that it plays an important role in our process of transformation.

It seems also that after a whole day of practicing movements, the energies generated by them, have a tendency to disperse in habitual activities and behavior. Just feeling good, should not be the aim of our Work. With the practice of Zikr at the end of the day, I believe that the energies generated by the participants collect in the heart, where the Beloved resides. Once these energies settle in the emotional center, we begin to appreciate an unforgettable experience. We see first of all how distant we have been, and the sense of returning to our essence is overwhelming. This experience helps greatly the realization of our own nothingness and opens the door to receive real help.
