IDENTIFICATION
We all seem to follow Eishav – Yaakov’s {Jacob’s} twin brother- who sold his birth rights for a soup of lentils. We all sell ourselves cheap – and let ‘others’ live our lives.
We have to try and step aside ,even raise ourselves, ‘sit on a cloud’ and observe how - by letting identification take over - we become these ‘others’: our work or our ideas our fear or our likes and dislikes, etc. and these substitutions lives our lives for us. I am not my ideas neither my job or my anger or fear or love or hate. Who Am I? Why do I let this ‘others’ live my life for me?
Essence –can’t be heard in the absence of silence. Essence hides and won’t emerge unless we quiet the noisy false personality; unless we observe and quiet the negative triads. In order to grow, Essence has to be provided - more frequently and for longer periods – with the conditions and the opportunity to manifest.
The Work gives us tools – self-remembering, sensing, attention, self-observation, inner exercises – so we can build Vessels.
If we want influences C & B to descend, we must step aside and let them come through us; for that to happen we must be an adequate Vessel: empty, clean and silent.

Some everyday observations concerning Identification
If ‘I am right and he is wrong’
Be sure that I am identified.
If I ‘argue and really needs to convince you’
I am identified.
If I feel that ‘I deserve to be treated better than that…’
I am identified.
If I feel ‘overwhelmed by the ‘multiple tasks I have to accomplish at a given day’
I am identified.
If ‘I really can’t stand that person
I am really identified.
If I think that ‘I am, oh, so special’
I am identified.
If I am self-justifying –especially my resistance-
I am identified.
If I talk to people from above {or look up to them from below}
I am identified.
Maybe you help me by adding to this list…..
